Sheriff’s deed filings spiked in the past week

285 sheriff’s deeds were filed with the Cuyahoga County Recorder’s Office in the past week (October 1 through October 5).

This is the highest number of completed sheriff’s sales filed with the Recorder in any week since the beginning of 2007, which has seen consistently bigger numbers than previous years. So it’s possible that it’s the most completed sheriff’s sales filed in any week, ever… but I’m not sure about that (yet).

Here’s who filed five or more of them:

Deutsche Bank (46)
Bank of New York (25)
Dept of HUD (24)
US Bank (20)
Wells Fargo (16)
Federal National Mortgage Assn (15)
Citibank (13)
Washington Mutual (12)
Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp (11)
National City Bank (10)
Household Realty (7)
JP Morgan Chase (7)
Lasalle Bank (7)
HSBC Bank (6)
Aurora Loan Services/Lehman Bros (5)
Pledged Property II/C-BASS (5)

(Previous week.)
